This blog post has been such a long time coming. But today, I am over-the-moon excited to share my newest quilt pattern, Fairy Tale Frogs. The idea for a frog princess quilt block has been sketched out in my sewing studio for over a year. And, I finally got to working on it with just enough time for a First Day of Spring release!

The design is truly inspired by my two daughters. They love nothing more than putting on a princess dress and digging in the dirt. They live in a world of fairy gardens, unicorns and fairy tales. There is nothing more magical than watching life unfold through their eyes. It is my hope that this pattern brings a bit of that whimsical feeling to you as well.
The blocks for this quilt are all traditionally pieced (no Foundation Paper needed!). Aside from sewing with a large number of small pieces, the techniques used are not complicated! The pattern is available in both throw size (57”x68”) and twin size (75”x85”), and can be made as a frog princess with flowers or a frog prince with lily pads. A single frog block can also be used to make pillows, wall hangings or a fun library tote.
Here are a few tips for making this quilt pattern:
-Take care to label your pieces after you cut them! There are several diagrams throughout the pattern to help keep you organized.
-When sewing with small pieces, I recommend starching your fabrics. This makes them easier to handle and your points more accurate. Click here for the starch that I use.
-Be creative! This is a whimsical pattern so feel free to add some creativity to it with unique colors or fabrics!
